Investment Training Program for Eastern European Countries
MIC/C&S prepared and implemented the project Training Program for Eastern European Countries Investment and Industrial Co-operation Promotion for the Italian Government. The training was focused on developing the skills and professional qualifications of small and medium size Eastern European exporters and joint venture partners to more effectively market their goods and services to foreign partners and possible foreign joint venture investors. The primary focus of the training was based upon the Italian experience of developing clusters of SME companies that became competitive exporters of their goods and services. C&S was awarded the contract funded by a grant from the Italian Government as the result of a public tender. The project was implemented in Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Slovenia

Similar to the MIC/C&S project referenced above this project expended on the number of countries included in the training program and developed another level of training on the Italian cluster based experience to competitiveness. The project was funded under a contract with the Italian Government. Implementation of this second phase took plance in Albania, Belarus, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia, Estonia, Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, Latvia, Lithuania, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Moldova, Czech Republic, and Ukraine.

Ethiopia SME Development
MIC/C&S undertook an assessment and evaluation of the legal and institutional environment for the development of private sector. The analysis concentrated on all relevant institutions and regulatory aspects having impact on private sector (Investment Code, Business law, Real estate, taxation, custom, financial regulations, banking, labor). The survey also considered the role of enterprise advocacy and support bodies such as export and privatisation agencies, the Chamber of Commerce and entrepreneurial associations in developing support for SME development. The project was funded under a contract with the Italian Government.

Jordan SME Development
MIC/C&S undertook a project to promote strategic alliance agreements between Jordanian and European Union SMEs. The aim of the project was to match three pre-selected Jordanian firms in the pharmacy and gas cooker appliance industry with partners in the EU. Profiles of each Jordanian company were developed and distributed to targeted EU firms resulting in the export of products from Jordan. The project was financed by MEDA-EURO-Mediterranean Partnership.Syria
Syria Chamber of Commerce Project
MIC/C&S is currently examining the main business related institutions and organisations in Syria, with the purpose of assessing their current situation in terms of structure, services, human resources, communications, technology and links with other business support institutions. Legal component: Comparative study between the EU Chambers of Commerce legislation and Syrian Chambers of Commerce and industry legislation to suggest a framework for changes to Syrian Chambers. The project is financed by the European Union.
Tunisia Chamber of Commerce
MIC/C&S undertook a project to assist the Tunisian Chambers of Commerce to evaluate the bilateral Chambers established by EU countries in Tunisia, singling out their needs, and giving them operational suggestions to strengthen their operational activities. The project was funded by the European Union.
