MIC Partner Garban/ICAP provided support to the Colombia Stock Exchange to develop trading of corporate and government fixed income securities trading by providing technical assistance and systems for trading. Garban/ICAP is one of the world’s largest wholesalers of fixed income securities. ICAP is a FT-250 listed company.
MIC Partners Garban/ICAP provides real time state of the art currency management, broking and foreign exchange management systems to developing countries around the world. This involves installation, service and technical assistance. In some cases Garban/ICAP manages the foreign exchange of developing countries for Central Banks. |

Bulgarian Capital Market Development |

MIC/HII developed and provided implementation support for a USAID two-year capital markets development project (1998-2000), also supported by USAID. The project advised the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, the Central Depository and the Bulgarian Broker Dealer Association on infrastructure improvements and institution building. The Project also undertook an initiative to build out the country’s domestic debt market. Working with potential corporate and municipal issuers, intermediaries and buyers, the project also helped define the potential for a domestic fixed income market. Hannon International provided support to develop and implement the project under a subcontract with Multinational Strategies. This included support for writing the winning proposal, identifying consultants and managing the project deliverables.

Bulgaria Pension Reform |

Hannon International developed and provided implementation support for a USAID funded Bulgaria Pension reform project. The project provided a comprehensive 2-year project (1998-2000) assisting the Government of Bulgaria in the creation of a proper legal and regulatory framework, the supervisory structure, and an increased public understanding of the funds necessary for the development of a voluntary third pillar private pension system. Hannon International wrote the winning proposal and identified consultants to implement the project. The project also drafted a voluntary pension third pillar law that was successfully passed by the Bulgarian parliament last summer. In addition other activities include the preparation of an organization plan, staffing structure and regulations for the state insurance supervisory agency (SISA) for the third pillar legislation; the design of the staff-training program for SISA; actuarial analyses, pension reform options; and the development and coordination of comprehensive public education strategy.

CHINA Sichuan Corporate Governance Project |

MIC/C&S is currently undertaking this project funded by the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation. The overall project aims to further long-term regional growth by stressing the importance of proper standards of corporate governance, seeking to promote the improvement of corporate governance standards with Sichuan banks and reputation agents so as to boost financing and investment in the region. Lithuania Debt Management |

MIC/HII provided technical assistance to the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance in the area of debt management. The engagement was preformed under subcontract with Abt Associates under its U.S. Agency for International Development SEGIR Financial Services IQC contract. Hannon International undertook a one-year project to provide advice to the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance on its public external debt management. To achieve this objective HII provided the Senior Treasury and Debt Management Advisor to the Lithuanian Ministry of Finance.
